Gabi is now a senior at Emerson College, located in the heart of Boston, where she is pursuing a BFA in Theatre with a Concentration in Directing. Her passion for directing was ignited at a young age when, as an 8th grader, she assistant-directed her first production. As a military brat, having lived in eight places, to include Germany, Gabi’s home often wasn’t a place – it was theatre, it was creation.
Recently, Gabi returned for a second year as a teaching assistant at Boston University’s Wheelock Family Theatre. This time, she collaborated with high school students on a unique production of Macbeth. At the conclusion of the summer, she was invited to join the production team for The SpongeBob Musical as the assistant director and mentor to youth actors. In this role, she worked closely with professional theatre artists over three weeks while balancing her responsibilities as a full-time student and resident dramaturg for Kidding Around, a student theatre organization at Emerson College.
Gabi’s directing credits are extensive and include the Boston debut of Tanner Maverick’s Book of Sound, written by two Berklee students, during her sophomore year of college. Following this, she directed a production of Rabbit Hole at Emerson College, collaborating again with Berklee students to create an original musical composition, integrating it into a multimedia film aspect of the production.
Additional proud directing accomplishments include Tick, Tick... Boom!, The Trail to Oregon!, and The Other Room. A full list of her directing and producing work can be found on the "Directing" page of her website.
Beyond the rehearsal space, Gabi is deeply passionate about philanthropy. She has leveraged her theatre talents and leadership skills to help raise over $70,000 for charitable organizations, including The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, No Kid Hungry, Loudoun Hunger, The Nicholas Center, Open Door Arts Massachusetts, and The Compassionate Friends.
Outside of her theatre pursuits, Gabi enjoys channeling her creativity as a stylist at Free People, one of her favorite stores. She loves creating outfits that reflect customers' personalities and helping them feel confident in their everyday style.
She loves to travel, spend time with family, and explore!
