"Tick, Tick... Boom!" is a semi-autobiographical musical by Jonathan Larson, the creator of "Rent," that follows Jon, an aspiring composer in New York City on the verge of turning 30, as he grapples with the pressure to create a successful musical while balancing his personal life, questioning his career choices, and facing the ticking clock of time against the backdrop of the 1990s NYC theater scene; the show is presented as a rock musical with a three-person cast, exploring themes of artistic ambition, relationships, and the pursuit of dreams
